“Unmasking Brain Injury” Exhibit Coming to Van Matre HealthSouth
Van Matre HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital will host “Unmasking Brain Injury” on Tuesday, May 9 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. in the hospital’s dining room located at 950 South Mulford in Rockford.
The event will allow visitors to come to the hospital and enjoy light refreshments while viewing the amazing and inspiring works of art created by patients. The colorful masks designed by brain injury and stroke patients will help tell patients’ stories of living with brain injury and overcoming stroke to the other patients in the hospital, staff and visitors. These beautiful masks depict the emotion, creativity and reality of experiencing these conditions.
Unmasking Brain Injury is a national program designed to promote awareness of the prevalence of brain injury and to give survivors a voice and the means to educate others of what it’s like to live with a brain injury.
A RSVP is requested and may be made by calling 815-381-8552. Questions may be directed to 815-381-8552.
